How buying on Whatnot works, how we ship, where our meat comes from, and how to reach us.
What is Butcherstar?
Butcherstar is a brother-and-sister butcher team, Sam and Sheryl, who run an award-winning retail butcher shop and sell premium meat through live shows on Whatnot. It was Whatnot's first-ever specialty meat show.
How do I buy from Butcherstar?
Every Butcherstar drop happens live on Whatnot. Open our Whatnot shows page, bookmark an upcoming show, and join when it goes live in the Whatnot app or on whatnot.com. Cuts sell by auction or Buy It Now during the show, and Whatnot handles payment.
When is the next live show?
The schedule is on our Whatnot shows page, and the next show is listed on butcherstar.com. Bookmark a show on Whatnot, or join our email list, to get an alert when we go live.
Where does Butcherstar's meat come from?
We source from some of the most respected ranches in the world, including Snake River Farms, Mishima Reserve, Cape Grim, and Gundagai Lamb. Every cut is chef-selected and hand-trimmed, and each drop is a limited allocation.
What does "limited allocation" mean?
Each show offers a small, set quantity of each cut. When it sells out during the show, it's gone until the next drop.
How is the meat shipped?
Orders ship UPS 2nd Day Air. We can't ship to PO boxes. Following Whatnot's rules for fresh food, perishable orders ship early in the week (Monday to Wednesday), so an order placed later in the week ships the following Monday. Shipping is set by Whatnot at checkout based on weight and speed.
Do you ship outside the United States?
No. Fresh meat on Whatnot ships to US addresses only.
Was Butcherstar on TV?
Yes. Sam and Sheryl appear in "Cam's Trip," the spot that launches Whatnot's first national TV campaign, "Take a Shopping Trip," starring New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo. It premieres during the Giants game on Sunday, October 25, 2026. See the commercial.
Can I visit a Butcherstar shop or restaurant?
Yes. We run retail butcher shops in Nevada and California and a restaurant in Sacramento. Email hello@butcherstar.com for locations and hours.
Can I buy without using Whatnot?
Right now every Butcherstar drop happens live on Whatnot. For anything else, email hello@butcherstar.com.
